Axiom Cortex processing contract

AI is not the judge.

Language processing finds the evidence. Governed neuro-psychometric calculus controls the result. A qualified human reviews the evidence and owns the decision.

  • The transcript is evidence from one interview, not a complete description of the person.
  • The ideal answer defines observable criteria, not words the candidate must repeat.
  • The result must preserve what is supported, what is missing, and what remains unknown.

One answer. One path back to proof.

See how the finding was made.

The candidate’s words stay connected to the role requirement and the final finding.

Interview · Question 03

How do you design for failure in a distributed system?

“I broke the service into smaller failure areas, added queue backpressure, and monitored each stage before rollout.”

Candidate’s exact answer

Is the answer relevant? What does it prove? What is still missing?

Role requirement

Designs systems that keep working when parts fail.

Evidence
Supported
Ownership
Direct
Missing
Recovery tradeoff

Supported, with a follow-up needed.

Human review stays in control.A person checks the source, corrects mistakes, and decides what happens next.

01 · Separated layers

One path from words to a controlled decision.

The architecture separates language interpretation, evidence state, numeric processing, and release authority. One step cannot silently do the job of another.

  1. 01Semantic evidence

Locates attributable candidate statements and maps them to the question, criterion, opportunity, support, contradiction, ownership, and missing evidence.

  2. 02Evidence lock

Freezes the role version, question, criterion, transcript span, speaker attribution, exclusions, and evidence state before calculation.

  3. 03Governed calculus

Applies configured software rules, weights, anchors, depth requirements, uncertainty controls, and critical gates. Missing inputs cannot become invented numbers.

  4. 04Human release

A qualified reviewer can confirm, correct, exclude, request more evidence, escalate, or release, with each material action recorded.

Hard boundary

The semantic layer is not permitted to select a numeric score, change a weight, choose an anchor, pass a core gate, recommend a hire, or release a report.

02 · Inspectable output

What the processing reveals.

Every view answers a different question. Together they show what the supplied interview can support without turning missing evidence into a story about the whole person.

Input integrity

Was this evaluation valid enough to run?

Role version, must-haves, transcript quality, speaker attribution, question map, source versions, and missing inputs.

Interview coverage

What was actually tested?

Must-have coverage, question coverage, criterion coverage, and whether the candidate had a valid, limited, missing, or unknown opportunity to answer.

Criterion evidence

What did the candidate demonstrate?

Exact source span, timestamp, and one bounded state: supported, partially supported, contradicted, not observed, or not evaluable.

Technical depth

Did the answer explain the mechanism?

Specificity, constraints, system interactions, tradeoffs, failure modes, validation, observability, and concrete examples, not jargon alone.

Ownership

What did this person personally do?

Personal ownership, shared ownership, team outcome only, unclear ownership, or not applicable. Team success is not silently converted into individual proof.

Work reasoning

How was the work approached here?

Problem framing, decomposition, evidence use, decision explanation, tradeoffs, validation, adaptation, ownership, coordination, risk, and communication clarity.

Consistency

Does later evidence support or conflict with earlier evidence?

Corroboration, explicit contradictions, unresolved changes, and the difference between uncertainty and actual conflict.

Delivery alignment

Does the evidence support this delivery-chain node?

Required outcomes, decisions, dependencies, handoffs, risk, validation duties, escalation, and accountability inside the company’s delivery topology.

Method execution

Which controls actually ran?

Applicable method family, required-input state, runtime state, output class, blocked reason, and version. Not every method applies to every interview.

Decision constraints

Can an average hide a critical failure?

Must-have gates, critical-question gates, anchor-depth limits, missing-data rules, and recommendation constraints prevent score inflation.

Auditability

Can the result be inspected and reproduced?

Input versions, evidence links, method version, calculation receipt, reviewer actions, correction history, and release state.

03 · Work-reasoning shape

We map demonstrated work reasoning, not a person’s mind.

The profile is role-specific and evidence-bound. It describes what the candidate demonstrated while answering these questions, not how the person thinks in every setting.

  1. 01
    Problem framing

Defines the problem, constraints, desired outcome, and operating context.

  2. 02
    Decomposition

Breaks work into useful parts, dependencies, stages, and decisions.

  3. 03
    Evidence use

Separates observation from assumption and connects evidence to a conclusion.

  4. 04
    Decision explanation

Explains a choice, the reason for it, and what could change it.

  5. 05
    Tradeoff awareness

Identifies competing goals, costs, risks, and constraints.

  6. 06
    Validation and feedback

Checks correctness, observes outcomes, responds to failure, and uses feedback.

  7. 07
    Adaptation

Updates an approach when evidence, requirements, constraints, or system behavior change.

  8. 08
    Ownership boundaries

Separates personal action, shared work, delegated work, and team outcomes.

  9. 09
    Delivery coordination

Reasons about dependencies, handoffs, sequence, communication, and wider impact.

  10. 10
    Risk recognition

Identifies failure conditions, uncertainty, operational risk, and safeguards.

  11. 11
    Communication clarity

Connects the answer to the question and criterion without scoring accent, fluency, disability, style, or voice quality.

Neuro-psychometric boundary

Neuro-psychometric alignment means structured mapping of observable, job-related evidence to a configured role and delivery contract. It does not mean neural measurement, clinical psychometrics, brain imaging, personality diagnosis, intelligence testing, or access to a private mental state.

04 · Decision boundary

Why this is not an open-ended AI opinion.

Axiom Cortex is designed as three separate authorities. The language layer interprets evidence. Software calculates under a versioned contract. A person controls the employment decision.

Language processing
Find and structure evidence. It identifies candidate statements, question context, criterion links, opportunity, ownership, support, contradiction, and missingness.
Governed calculus
Calculate under fixed rules. It applies approved parameters, depth anchors, uncertainty controls, and critical gates only after the evidence state is locked.
Human reviewer
Own and release the decision. The reviewer checks job relevance, source quality, opportunity, accommodation, evidence, gates, corrections, and applicable policy.

The result can say

  • Supported by this supplied interview
  • Partially supported
  • Explicitly contradicted
  • Not observed
  • Not evaluable
  • More evidence required
  • Human review required

The result cannot say

  • This is the person’s complete capability
  • This person has a specific personality or neurotype
  • This person is intelligent or unintelligent
  • This person is emotionally stable or unstable
  • This person is truthful or deceptive
  • This person will succeed in the job
  • This person should automatically be hired or rejected

Prohibited inference: no face, gaze, appearance, accent, voice quality, emotion, truthfulness, mental health, personality, intelligence, disability, protected trait, cultural conformity, hidden mental state, or unsupported future-performance claim may enter the result.

05 · Proof ladder

A claim is only as strong as its proof.

Structural validation is not the same as predictive validity. Each higher claim needs its own named study, sample, method, date, result, limitations, and approval.

  1. Registry integrityAre the documented methods and controls present and versioned?
  2. Execution integrityDid every required control actually run, or show a valid blocked or not-applicable state?
  3. RepeatabilityDo identical locked inputs, parameters, policies, and software versions produce the same calculation receipt?
  4. Criterion and predictive validityDo approved studies show that measured evidence relates to the intended construct and later job outcomes?
  5. Fairness and generalizationDo results remain appropriate across relevant populations, languages, roles, accommodations, and operating settings?

The public documentation explains the product contract. It does not establish a quantified accuracy, predictive-validity, fairness, or business-outcome claim. A deployed release must authenticate its method version, provider configuration, and execution receipt before the separation can be claimed as verified runtime behavior.

Direct answers

Questions buyers and reviewers should ask.

Does AI decide whether an engineer is qualified?

No. In the governed product contract, language processing may identify and structure attributable evidence, but it cannot choose scores, weights, anchors, gates, recommendations, or release decisions.

What does Axiom Cortex processing reveal?

It can show input integrity, interview coverage, criterion support, technical depth, ownership, observable work reasoning, cross-answer consistency, delivery alignment, method status, decision constraints, and auditability within the supplied evidence.

What does neuro-psychometric alignment mean?

It means mapping observable, job-related work-reasoning evidence to a configured role and business-delivery contract. It does not mean brain measurement, clinical psychometrics, personality diagnosis, or access to a private mental state.

What happens when a question was not asked?

The relevant criterion remains not observed or not evaluable. The system should not turn a missing opportunity into candidate failure.

Can a strong overall result hide a failed critical requirement?

The governed design uses critical-question and must-have gates so a strong average cannot silently erase a material core failure.

Does Axiom Cortex analyze faces, gaze, accents, or emotions?

No. Those signals are outside the public product boundary and must not be used for scoring or inference.

Who makes the final hiring decision?

A qualified human reviewer is responsible for the final decision and can confirm, correct, exclude, request more evidence, or block release.

Can the result predict future job performance?

The current public documentation does not establish predictive validity for future job performance. A separate approved validation study would be required for that claim.
